I want a battle room

There is a part in Ender's Game where Ender refuses to leave practice before Dink does and this leads Ender to see what Dink does after each practice.  He takes off his clothes and floats from one wall of the room to the other, very slowly.  I think that I would like to be able to do this.  It seems very restful.  He says that the walls absorb de crazy and then the little boys come and bump into the walls and squish out de crazy back into him so he has to get rid of it again.  I have crazy.  I think I would like one of these...

Card's New Book

Orson Scott Card's new book is called Shadows in Flight and follows Bean and his children as they embark on a relativistically stained journey waiting for scientists to find a cure their giantism.  These scientists forget about this condition and Bean and his companions just become a myth in space.  Of course all of this is just heresay because I never read the book and was just basing this off of a review.  I should never trust what other people say about things, but if I want to write something slightly meaningful about the book, I need to blindly follow in the darkness.  Need to get the book sometime!

Just finished Children of the Mind...AGAIN!

Did you know that wangled is used?  Not quite sure why I care (just kidding, it's a great word)  but someone uses it referring to Wang-Mu.  Wang-mu wangled.  ROFL!  But I noticed a couple of philosophic things I hadn't seen before.

Ender's Game movie

Coming out in March 2013!  Hopefully.  As you may be able to imagine, I am quite excited for this magnificant event.  Apparently they are doing battle school scene filming from February to June in New Orleans.  Should be a pretty good cast and the Ender is apparently rather good.  From a series aspect, it would be semi-but not hard to do everything timeline wise.  Maybe with Bean, since he is so young to begin with, but everybody else can age seminaturally since Card made it very easy with his series.  Anyone for all of the Ender + Bean series to come out?  I am.

Olhado

Been wanting to write about this quite a bit recently.  So there is a character in the older Ender series named Olhado Ribeira.  His family is disfunctional (aren't we all) and he has metal eyes.  Or metal eye.  His other eye had a port that can connect to the computer so he can upload "his" "memories."  Sort of cool.  But he becomes a bit of an outcast as a result.  Not that he isn't already for being a Ribeira.  Time passes and the rest of his family goes on to become great intellectuals and scientists.  He doesn't.  He just got a wife and had kids.  Card shows this pattern in the Bean sub-series (dare I call it that) with Anton, who discovered the key the subsequently caused Bean to be genetically modified with more mental capacity and shorter life span.  And both characters have an interesting withdrawn interest in the world around them, Anton trying to find the key to life, which he finds is love, and Olhado trying to keep his love in his beautiful wife and children.  The reappearence of this trait in seperate episodes leads me to believe that Card has this "big picture" type of belief where beyond where everything matters is love.  And love only.  Which Bean discovers everyone has.  Even Achilles.  And Ender discovers holds everyone and everything together.  So that is my analysis of a anomaly-seeming thing.

Where Most of the Musings come from

Some of the people who do not read my blog may (not) be wondering where most of the musings come from.  Most of these ideas will come from books written by Orson Scott Card.  Card is, in my opinion, the best author in the modern world.  Not only can he come up with great plots, he can formulate some of the most in-depth arguments in which he formulates both sides.  These arguments are where I generate most of the ideas that show up on the blog.  The Orson Scott Card universe being so extensive, I have not yet read all of his books and could not possibly name all of them here.  One of the books that is the most popular that has been written by him is Ender's Game.  I encourage the reading of all the books by him that you can get your hands on.
